Resumen

Este trabajo intentará incorporar la discusión de las condiciones sociales y políticas dentro del territorio del estado de Israel y los territorios de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina y sus efectos dentro de la arqueología de esa zona. Este no es el primer trabajo sobre la historia de la arqueología en Israel desde un punto de vista crítico, pero su objetivo es analizar las diferentes escuelas arqueológicas en el marco de la historia de la región desde el siglo XIX hasta el presente. El objetivo de este trabajo es también sugerir nuevos posibles desarrollos para la arqueología del sur de Levante desde el punto de vista de los arqueólogos que trabajan dentro del estado de Israel y los territorios palestinos de Cisjordania y Gaza.
