Abstract

This article reports on the results obtained in a project based on interactive mobile robotics, with a playful approach, for the learning of French as a Foreign Language. After developing an interactive mobile robot and a game scenario focused on the vocabulary of body parts, three sessions were conducted with a group of Spanish-speaking high school beginners, using three different teaching modalities. The learners’ perception of learning, their previous experiences and their representations associated with learning through play and games and/ or robotics were later explored by questionnaire. Listening, reading, speaking were tested to compare the different types of intervention. The results suggest that robot-mediated learning is best combined with an approach involving active teacher participation.
