Impact of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning FLE
Abstract
The emergence of artificial intelligence has had an impact on society and also on education, where there are bound to be major changes in the years to come. Some thought needs to be given to its application in FLE courses. From the teacher’s point of view, thought needs to be given to changes not only in resources - incorporating AI-generated tools for more authentic student interaction - but also in the types of activities to be proposed on the basis of new needs and new possibilities. What benefits could it bring to students, depending on their different profiles? Could it become a tool for solving the unique difficulties and needs of each learner? However, in a country where there are so many economic inequalities, this use will generate a greater gap between those who have resources and those who do not; beyond the dehumanizing and individualistic aspect of these tools - motivated by capitalist interests - while neglecting the human, social and/or emotional aspect of learning which is crucial to meaningful learning.
