Good practices in scientific research

PRÁCTICA ARQUEOLÓGICA adheres to the Code of Ethics of the Professional Archaeologists Association of the Argentine Republic (AAPRA), and the Code of Conduct and Good Practices established by the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE). Accordingly, the Editorial Committee assumes responsibility for ensuring the quality of the published manuscripts, protecting their content and integrity. Additionally, it commits to conducting proper management that respects the steps of the editorial process while considering the needs of authors, readers, and reviewers, resolving conflicts of interest, and making and communicating any necessary corrections, clarifications, and retractions. This ethical commitment must be accepted and implemented by both those submitting a manuscript for publication and those evaluating and editing it. Authors must make clear that the work was conducted within the framework of concessions or permits granted by the provincial bodies for the implementation of provincial laws and National Law 25.743 for the protection of archaeological and paleontological heritage.

PLAGIARISM DETECTION

Contributions submitted must be original and unpublished. It is the responsibility of the authors to respect other authorships and appropriate citation of references mentioned in their manuscript. To verify compliance with these procedures, the Editorial Committee will employ various plagiarism detection methods, including: internet searches, similarity checks against online sources using the Microsoft Word 365 editor tool, and online plagiarism checker plag.es.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE EDITORIAL COMMITTEE

The Editorial Committee will ensure that the works adhere to the Editorial Standards and the Author Style Guide. Works that do not meet this requirement will be rejected before evaluation. Similarly, it may reject manuscripts that it does not consider relevant to the themes proposed by the Journal.

The Editorial Committee is obliged to safeguard all information related to the editorial process involving submitted manuscripts with total confidentiality, not to use unpublished information, and to protect the identity of those submitting the manuscript and those evaluating it.
